Mobile Phone coverage

All mobile phone networks now offer 99% UK population coverage.

Mobile phones use radio wave technology, so there is unfortunately no way of guaranteeing from mathematical calculations what sort of mobile phone reception you get from any particular network in a particular place in the UK.

About 10 years ago there was quite a difference between the network coverage offered by the UK's four networks (T Mobile, Orange, Vodafone and O2. Note: Virgin do not actually operate their own network, they operate a "virtual network" i.e. they use the T-Mobile network, and rebrand it as their own so a Virgin phone will get exactly the same reception as a phone on T-Mobile).

Today however, there is very little to distinguish between the network operators. They all quote 99% UK population coverage.
