When buying a mobile phone, there are many things to consider. Do you want to tie yourself in with a 12 month or 24 month contract? or do you want to have a pay as you go phone. Both have their advantages and disadvantages. For instance, on pay as you go, you generally do not know how much you are spending on each call. This can be incredibly expensive if you are making many phone calls. Especially as a lot of pay as you go phones are charged by the minute i.e. a 65 second phone call will cost you 2 minutes. At 30p a minute (not an uncommon price for a PAYG phone call), you will pay 60p - that's almost 1p per second! One the other hand, the contract phone can mean you get tied into a contract that just isn't suitable for you 6 months down the line. Please do your research carefully and consider all your options.
